EMPTY SPACE

The humanity is a part of the Universe, we interact like cells in a living organism. If this organism falls ill we die.. The romantic myth created by the conquest of Space during the 60s and 70s drop the curtain. The projection of this man - hero in an innocent shared illusion left us without conquest.

The stage of scenic garbage let us suspect disappointed with what intentions and interests we were watching in the first line the masterpiece of his creators. The scientific progress is not given by what the common citizen considers to be a technological advance. That cell phones exist with camera or multimedia of all kinds, it does not mean that there is a scientific progress as regards the environment. Little has been advanced in the knowledge of the Universe, the planets and the Moon

Ignorance, lack of methods of control, and specially lack of responsibility aloud real crimes being committed against our environment, such as:

- Nuclear tests in the high atmosphere in order to disturb the Van Allen belts and try to drill a tunnel through them.

- Human-produced debris abandoned on Space, space garbage that remains orbiting for centuries.

- Use of poisonous oxidizers for rockets as nitric acid or 'Devil's Venom' at the beginning of the space age; countries like Argentina still experiments and use this technology.

- The cancellation of the missions Apollo to the Moon, the fall of the Soviet Union (Including deorbiting Space Station MIR ), the accidents of the Challenger and Columbia together with political decisions and wars have generated large quantities of jobless scientists and experts, without taking into account the facilities and useful abandoned material, with no chances of recovering.

EMPTY SPACE is divided in three parts: 'The Pioneers' those that died for the Space. 'Warm War' where it is not clear if the 'Cold War' wasn't a justification for both powers to justify large budgets for defense. And last 'Militarization of Space' due to the real origin of rockets and missiles and the way of thinking behind it.

Chicken or the egg?

A rocket derives from a missile? (A reformed missile), or we should say that in fact the missile is an added value of the first space rockets? The bomb V2 created by the Third Reich was designed as intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), in fact it was the first one of its class. It is said that the scientists involved in the develop- ment of the V2 also were interested in traveling to Space; but the one in charge was not really amazed about conquering Space, he had in mind a more 'useful' payload for those rockets: The atomic bomb.

It is important to ask ourselves what are the intentions of the two countries that 'inherited' the technology of the V2 and also that of the atomic bomb. Supposedly the reason is the pacific conquest of the space, like the International Space station venture.

But reasoning logically, and taking in consideration that 12 persons walked in the Moon 41 years ago, should not we be a little further regarding the conquest of the Cosmos? For instance a Moon Base, space tourism and a human mission to Mars?

At the moment the only thing that is slowly happening is the space tourism, but it looks like the agencies have a clear 'anti tourist' policy, in addition at astronomical prices rather than democratic. Is our responsibility as inhabitants of the World to know and understand the Cosmos, we can choose to dive in an Ocean or to walk on a Forest, but in the future we will do the same on Space; it is actually happening: Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, Greg Olsen and Anousheh Ansari are some of the few people who decided to dive in the Cosmos.
